Enjoy the charm and the atmosphere of the town, join in with regatta in the summer months. For those walking enthusiasts, enjoy amazing views along this stretch of the South West Coast Path. The chalky cliffs of Old Harry's Rock are spectacular and are well worth your time to visit. The rocks mark the most eastern point of the Jurassic Coast. Beaches

Swanage beach is 4 miles of golden, sandy beach. Sheltered waters, and lifeguards patrolling the beach in the summer months, makes it very popular with families. This beach holds the prestigious Blue flag award for beach cleanliness. Why not hire out a traditional beach hut for the duration of your stay, this will save you carrying your beach luggage everywhere. Pedalos can be hired on the beach as can deckchairs, although dogs are not allowed on this beach from May to September. Pier Beach is a tiny sand and shingle beach near the traditional pier, perfect for sitting and watching the world go by. The clear waters make it great for snorkelling or angling. Dogs are allowed on this beach all year.

Swanage Railway

Swanage Railway is a fantastic and exciting way to see the Isle of Purbeck in style. This heritage railway has a steam and diesel train running the five and a half miles from Norden. It takes in Corfe Castle and Swanage with picnic tables at most stations for you to make the most of the day. Take a day trip to Corfe Castle, explore the castle and then make the return journey back. At Christmas, join the Swanage railway for a magical Christmas adventure for not only the children to enjoy but the adults too.
